iPhone 4 Games

To take a healthy break from all the post WWDC and iPhone 4 commotion, I thought I’d draw your attention to a rather fantastic game. A friend of mine a couple of weeks back mentioned a certain ‘Angry Birds’ to me, and said it was “brilliant”. So, I ignored him and politely nodded and added an appropriate “hmmmm”. Not a week later, another iPhone toting pal said “Have you got Angry Birds?” Suddenly I was interested. Maybe because a second person mentioned it, or maybe because this second guy wasn’t someone I’d normally associate with playing games on a mobile.

So, I paid my $0.99 and gave it a go. I now wish I hadn’t! I don’t think I’ve seen my wife for almost 4 days, it’s ridiculously addictive. I cannot put it down. I feel a little like when staring in to a cookie jar, and telling myself “just one more”, that one more level turns in to another hour, quite easily. Maybe I should have entered this post as a warning, I feel my daughter is getting neglected way too much while the game is on my phone.

The game is pretty simple to understand. You basically just catapult various breeds of birds in an attempt to kill off all of the green pigs that have stolen eggs from your nests. As you advance further you unlock different types of bird. Some blow things up, others boomerang around the back and so on. I’m not entirely sure why it’s so addictive, maybe it’s just that we all have an in-built love of destroying things. And with piles of wood, glass and stone to send your feathered friends in to, that satisfaction is readily met.

So, if you haven’t already download it (link launches iTunes), give the free version a go if you like, but it will get you hooked and almost force you to buy the full version and give up any hope of real life for a few days. (I’ve almost completed it already.) Like I mentioned earlier it’s 99 cents, and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, providing you have OS 3.0 or later.

The iPhone 4

Recently the New Apple iPhone hit! People everywhere are happy! Recently Apple announced that the new iPhone 4 is scheduled for releaseApple iPhone 4 this June. The later part of the month is what rumors are. Pre-orders for the new phone can be placed beginning June 15. You will be able to get the 16GB version for $199 and the 32GB version for a hot $299. Oh and the iPhone 3GS will drop down to a more affordable $99. Wow!

You would be a fool not to get the iPhone 4g? I was very curious myself as to how they could possibly make it better but epic wow, they did! Ok so I did a little research and found that iPhone 4G has what it takes to outsmart all smart phones before it. Heres how!

iPhone 4′s Grandest “Wow!” Factors are:

* Super Flat just as a pancake lol. At 9.33 mm thick, it’s 24% thinner than iPhone 3GS
* Pixeliscious. Apple’s new “retina display” has 4 times as many pixels as the 3GS.
* Doubles the fun on picture taking with a double camera, front-facing and back facing. Also has zoom, tap to focus and LED flash. (iPad dont even have a camera?!)
* Built in video editing with support through iMovie application.
* Face-to-face phone calls with video calling. Only available on wifi and only between iPhone 4G users.
* Longer battery life: 7 hours of 3G talk time, 6 hours of browsing on 3G or 10 on wifi, 10 hours of video, 40 hours of music, 300 hours of standby. Nice!
* E-book application never been better. Sync all of your apple products, buying e-book only once. This thing Maintains bookmarks, notes and all features across all products. All on the fly!

The iPhone 4 manages to meet all of my high expectations lol,and answering the few complaints I’ve had with my 3G version, mainly with the camera. For a little while I’ve been suffering “iPad” jealousy, wondering if it was worth it to break down and get one. The new phone, with all of its capabilities, by far trumps Apple iPad (it doesn’t even have a camera! and more) and I now see no need for it. Apple has literally out done itself with iPhone 4G.
